Define what “learn Quran” means
Recognizing Arabic letters, reading a short passage, applying recitation rules consistently and memorizing Quran are different goals. A claim such as “finish in six months” is unclear unless it states the starting level, expected practice and the skill being assessed.
Start with a baseline
A beginner can identify selected letters and vowel marks. A returning reader can read a short unfamiliar passage. The tutor should note where help is needed: recognizing a shape, joining sounds, pronouncing a letter or applying a rule. Familiar memorized passages can mask gaps in reading.
