Why the Chain of Teachers Matters in Islam

In Islam, knowledge is not taken from books alone — it is received from the mouths of teachers. The Prophet ﷺ said: "This knowledge is carried by the trustworthy ones of every generation. They expel from it the alterations of the extremists, the fabrications of the liars, and the misinterpretations of the ignorant." (Ibn 'Abd al-Barr)
