Why a learning background matters
A tutor’s learning history can help you understand which subjects and recitation traditions they studied. It should be specific to the assigned person and relevant to the course you want.
Questions to ask
- Who taught or authorized the tutor in the subject being advertised?
- Which recitation or area of study does the credential cover?
- What supporting information can be shared?
- How does the tutor teach this subject to a learner at our level?
Do not infer a named chain
A general description of Sanad does not establish a particular teacher’s chain of transmission. Named teachers, institutions and authorizations should be supported by the tutor’s own documentation. A shared academy name does not mean all instructors have the same learning background.
Connect background with teaching practice
Recitation credentials and the ability to teach a child, beginner or adult learner are related but distinct considerations. Observe an explanation and a correction during a trial. Ask how the tutor assesses the learner’s current skill and adjusts the next task.
