Our Teaching Methodology

How we combine 1400 years of Islamic pedagogical tradition with modern educational science to create effective, personalized Quran learning.

Our Philosophy

The Foundation: Talaqqi & Mushafahah

The Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί received the Quran through direct oral transmission from Jibreel (AS). He then taught his Companions face-to-face, correcting their recitation word by word, letter by letter. This method β€” called Talaqqi (direct face-to-face learning) and Mushafahah (oral recitation in the presence of a teacher) β€” has been the standard of Quran education for 14 centuries.

Every QuranHeaven class follows this original model. You learn the same way the Companions learned β€” by reciting in front of a qualified teacher who corrects your pronunciation in real-time. There is no substitute for this method. Apps, videos, and self-study cannot provide the feedback loop that Talaqqi requires.

Core Principles

The 5 Pillars of Our Teaching

1. Talaqqi (Direct Oral Transmission)

Every class involves real-time recitation in front of a qualified teacher. Your teacher hears every letter and corrects every mistake immediately. This is non-negotiable authentic Quran education.

2. Personalized Pacing (Tadarruj)

The Islamic concept of Tadarruj (gradual progression) means we never rush a student. You master each level before advancing. Curriculum is calibrated to your individual capacity, not a fixed timeline.

3. Tajweed Integration (Tajweed al-Quran)

Tajweed is not taught as a separate subject. It is integrated into every single recitation session from the first lesson. Students learn rules through application, not memorization.

4. Spaced Repetition (Muraja'ah)

Drawing from the classical Sabqi-Manzil system and modern cognitive science, every lesson includes structured review of previous material at increasing intervals. This ensures long-term retention.

5. Meaning Connection (Tadabbur)

Students learn the meaning of what they recite. Brief Tafsir is provided for every passage, connecting the student's recitation to the message of the Quran. Meaning-connected learning is 3x more durable.
