What does the Noorani Qaida course teach?
The syllabus introduces Arabic letters and their connected forms, Harakat, Tanween, Sukoon, Shaddah and Madd. It prepares beginners for reading Quranic text; it is distinct from a full Tajweed or memorization course.

What to bring to the first lesson
No prior Arabic reading is required. Bring your current Qaida edition if you have one, so the teacher can use consistent letter forms and page references.
A sample lesson
Illustrative teaching sequence; your tutor should adjust it to the learner.
- Identify the target letter and listen to its sound.
- Compare short-vowel forms, such as Ψ¨Ω Ψ¨Ω Ψ¨Ω, one at a time with the tutor.
- Read the same forms in a mixed order, then try a short joined example selected for your level.
How to check progress
- Recognizes letters in isolated and joined forms.
- Distinguishes short vowels, sukoon and shaddah in level-appropriate examples.
- Reads a new short combination accurately before moving to longer Quran text.
Between classes
Point to each mark while reading slowly. Mix the order of examples so that practice tests recognition rather than memory of the page.
Do I have to finish Qaida in a fixed number of months?
No. Move forward when the current skill is stable. Rushing through pages can hide gaps in recognition, while an experienced reader may only need to revisit selected skills.

Choosing a tutor and weekly routine
Use the trial to see how the tutor explains a correction and responds when you need more time. Ask about relevant experience, teaching language and current availability. If a particular Ijazah or specialist qualification matters to your choice, request the assigned teacherβs supporting details.
Agree the goal, lesson length and home-practice task before paid lessons begin. After several classes, review a fresh reading sample or previously learned passage together. Progress should be described through observable skills and the prompts still needed.
